Jeep Brand Named Most Patriotic in America

The Jeep brand, in Russ Darrow's opinion, has a very patriotic image. It has been ingrained in World War II's history and from that time has been known as a truly rugged American brand. But we are not the only ones who think Jeep is a patriotic brand. In a recent survey conducted by Brand Keys, a branding researching firm located in New York, 4,500 participants voted Jeep the most patriotic brand in America. It ranked at the top of the list of 25 brands, and was the only automotive brand on the list.

According to President of Brand Keys, Rober Passikoff, patriotism is really about creating an ingrained feeling; it's not about advertising featuring American themes. He explains that patriotism is "more a question of whether that value is seen to part of the brand's equity, whether it's truly acknowledged on a deeply emotional and engaging basis."1

The Jeep brand achieved a score of 98 out of 100 for how well it engaged with the emotional expectations consumers held. Americans view the brand as one that embodies American ideals. That's really what patriotism is about- engaging an emotional response and engaging values we believe American holds as a nation.
